Hurunui Garden Festival 2020

From Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November you can visit gorgeous private gardens from Amberley to Gore Bay, and Hawarden to Hanmer Springs, many within just one hour’s drive of Christchurch and the airport.

While you’re enjoying our inspirational gardens and warm country hospitality, we hope you’ll sample our hot pools, wineries, cafes, and the many natural attractions that make Hurunui District such a great place to visit.

We’re inviting you to join us for an inspiring weekend in the gorgeous private gardens of the Hurunui.

Visit The Gardens

The gardens are arranged into 7 geographically based clusters, making it easy for you to plan your visit to multiple gardens. Each cluster has its own detailed map, showing you the precise location of the gardens, along with useful information, such as the locations of public toilets, accommodation, petrol and diesel stations, and food outlets.

All gardens are open daily from 9am to 5pm. You can meet the garden owners, and learn how they’ve created their gorgeous gardens in our rather challenging climate.

It costs adults $10 to visit each garden, payable on the day as you enter the garden. Children accompanied by an adult may enter for free. Please have cash with you, as the gardens cannot process electronic payments.
